A Few Challenges

I am now a Social Brownie for BrownieScraps. My job is to leave love in the gallery (50 comments a week) and host a speed scrap once a month, and be active in the forum. In return I get the Brownie Addicts Club membership free every month! That includes three free kits plus loads of fun!

So to be active in the forum I have been participating in a few of the May Challenges.

This first layout I made for the Colour Challenge. We had to create a layout using shades of yellow, black, and grey.

This layout was made for the Single Brownie Challenge. You are given one word to use as the title of your layout. Sometimes just one word says it all.

This layout was for the Recipe Challenge. You are given a list of items and instructions to follow to make your page. You must include all the items on the list somewhere in your layout. Here is the list I had to follow:

Here's your recipe:
5 papers
2 photos, different shapes
1 frame
3 ribbons/strings
5 flowers
2 buttons
3 leaves
1 jewel or flair
1 scatter or splatter
1 journal tag
2 alphas or fonts
Cluster everything in one area of the page

This one was made for the Brownie Flip challenge. They take a layout out of the gallery and ask you to scraplift it, but you must "flip" it in some way to change it and make it your own.

This layout was made for the Sweet Inspiration challenge. You are given a theme to scrap about. This month the challenge was to scrap about something to do with spring. Flower, playing outside, etc....

I enjoy participating in challenges. I find that I make some of my best layouts when I am making one for a challenge. Plus you earn points that turn into discounts off of future purchases. If you have never participated in a challenge I encourage you to go out to your favorite scrapbooking store's forum and give one a shot.

The first page was for the challenge called "It's A Wrap". They give certain things you have to include on your page when you create it. The list this time was one torn edge, one frame, a picture or set of pictures that take up half of your page, and one patterned paper, and also a title. Here is what I came up with.

The second page was made for the "About Me" monthly challenge. This months challenge was to scrap about your favorite flower (only one kind). You had to include journaling.

Speed Scrap!

I participated in my first speed scrap last night. I found out what the participation prize was and decided to go for it. I have been a little scared of the speed scraps. I was not sure what was involved but decided to jump in with both feet last night. It is really not that big of a deal. You are given a set of directions to follow every few minutes for an hour. You have a certain amount of time after that to post your layout in the gallery and leave a link in the forum. I participated in on at Digital Scrapbooking Mania last night.

Here are the directions we were given:

1. Choose 3 - 6 pictures. frame 1/2 of them (or more).
2. Choose 2 - 3 papers. One must be patterned.
3. Arrange one of papers where you want
4. Add at least 8 elements to your Layout.
5. Add a title in the upper left corner. Pick a tag or another paper and frame it, behind the title. Make (at least) one word bigger than the others.
6. add splatter, unless it already there
7. Journal and date if you wish. Remember to use your shadows and post link and leave love!

I learned a new trick in the Creative Memories Digi Challenge #14 on Facebook tonight! It is sooo cool! I used a paper from Digi-Designs By Nicole's March Color Challenge Mini Kit. I think I will use this page at STS "My Life" Challenge and also the March Color Challenge. Hmmm....maybe I will change the paper and even see if I can use in another challenge! We will see.
