Speed Scrap!

I participated in my first speed scrap last night.  I found out what the participation prize was and decided to go for it.  I have been a little scared of the speed scraps.  I was not sure what was involved but decided to jump in with both feet last night.  It is really not that big of a deal.  You are given a set of directions to follow every few minutes for an hour.  You have a certain amount of time after that to post your layout in the gallery and leave a link in the forum.  I participated in on at Digital Scrapbooking Mania last night.

Here are the directions we were given:

1. Choose 3 - 6 pictures. frame 1/2 of them (or more).
2. Choose 2 - 3 papers. One must be patterned.
3. Arrange one of papers where you want
4. Add at least 8 elements to your Layout.
5. Add a title in the upper left corner. Pick a tag or another paper and frame it, behind the title. Make (at least) one word bigger than the others.
6. add splatter, unless it already there
7. Journal and date if you wish. Remember to use your shadows and post link and leave love!

The second season of Scrapping Survivor is underway over at Gingerscraps. It is too late to sign up for the competition but you can still participate in the challenges just for the fun of it if you would like. A Few Challenges

I have been having a lot of fun participating in some challenges on the forums for the different scrapbooking websites.  I like the challenges because it gets me scrapbooking in ways I might not have otherwise.  Here are a few of the challenges I have taken part in recently at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  I also have the added bonus of earning points that turn into cash to use towards new kits!  How cool is that?!

I am really, really excited about this new kit I have to show you! I did this page as part of the Freestyle Challenge in the forum at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  Min is running it this month and she challenged us to use ten different papers on a page.  With all the choices in this kit is was simple and fun!  If you are looking for new ideas to scrap I encourage you to check out the challenges in the forums.  You earn points that turn into cash for each one you participate in!!

I Made Word Art!!!

I decided to participate in a couple challenges over at the Studio.  This was the Decorate Your Word Art Challenge.  The challenge this month was to fill you word art with a paper.  Something I already knew how to do.  I played around and came up with this.  I can't wait to find some pictures I can use with it!  I probably had way more fun than I should have!!  LOL!! 

I used Digital Scrapbooking Studio's "Sunshine After The Rain" Haiti Charity Collaboration kit for this challenge:

Vivre!!! from Julie It.Is

This is the awesome new kit called "Vivre" (Live!) from Julie It.Is.  I really love the colors and I got to play with some embellishments I have never played with before.  I really liked the chicken wire, the raffia, and the wooden frame.  The colors of the papers are fabulous!!!
